The Pink Triangle Memorial is tucked in a quiet pocket between always-busy Market Street and loud and proud Castro. At the right time of day, the streets around it feel fairly remote, and the views from it are awe-inspiring. It’s a perfect site for a deeply moving piece of art. The Memorial is for LGBT+ Holocaust victims.
The Triangle itself is made up of rose quartz pieces just big enough for the palm of your hand. Visitors are encouraged to take one so they don’t forget. As I bent to find mine, my eyes met this sign, and filled (like they are right now):
Please show the Pink Triangle Memorial some love. It’ll move you.
